HELLO,

MY NAME IS MARIA ANTONIA

UX Designer with a technical background, dedicated to creating user-centric experiences that prioritize human interaction.

NICE TO MEET YOU

I'm a passionate UX Designer with a solid foundation in computer science and graphic design, driven by a love for problem-solving and creativity. Currently working at WONGDOODY, I’ve had the privilege to collaborate with major brands like P&G and SolarWinds, where I’ve refined my ability to craft intuitive, user-centered designs that balance functionality with delight.

In both work and life, I believe in hands-on creativity. Whether I’m designing digital experiences or cooking up new recipes, I’m always looking for creative solutions that bring joy to others. My background allows me to approach design challenges from a unique perspective, combining technical know-how with a deep appreciation for aesthetics and user experience.

Outside of my day-to-day UX work, I lead the media and communications department at my church, handling everything from live streaming to creating impactful graphics. I also run my Etsy store, where I blend personal touches with design, most recently crafting a beautiful coffee table book that transformed handwritten letters into art.

I’m excited to keep growing in the UX field, and I’m determined to expand my role into leadership as I continue to hone my craft.

Let's connect and cook up something amazing together!

Case Studies

Truist

As an experience designer on this project for Truist Insurance Holdings, I focused on improving the proposal process by addressing inefficiencies and manual workflows that hindered productivity. We conducted interviews with key stakeholders to uncover challenges and gain insights into their pain points.

Leveraging these findings, our team led a design thinking workshop to refine processes such as data gathering, submissions, and proposals, establishing a more streamlined and cohesive system. We continue to work closely with the clients throughout the platform's development, ensuring ongoing collaboration as we explore additional features for future phases.

P&G

As an experience designer on this project for P&G, I led the user research and discovery phases under the leadership of the UX director to address the low compliance of in-store displays across retailers. Our team conducted in-depth research, including in-store visits and stakeholder interviews, and developed personas to uncover inefficiencies in the display creation process.

Through journey mapping and a design thinking workshop, we identified key challenges related to communication, workflow gaps, and reliance on third-party employees. This groundwork set the stage for a more streamlined and effective display system that improves collaboration and compliance tracking across all stakeholders.

Hatch

Hatch sought to improve employee adoption of new tools after a digital transformation. As an Experience Designer, I collaborated with a senior designer and strategists to identify why employees were resistant to change. Through interviews and workshops, we developed personas and journey maps to tackle this challenge. I led activities and guided discussions that highlighted user pain points, focusing on the influential "Project Lead" persona.

Our team designed a dashboard solution that made the tools more accessible. This same workshop later led to another project, an AI chatbot experience to further help enhance engagement

SolarWinds

SolarWinds sought to establish a stronger presence in the competitive cloud observability tools market. As an Experience Designer, I shifted from my typical focus to help develop a go-to-market strategy. I performed a comprehensive competitive analysis, contributed to research by conducting user interviews, and helped build personas and journey maps to frame the strategy.

Through workshops, we identified key moments in the decision-making process and built a plan highlighting SolarWinds’ differentiators, simplicity, and predictability—qualities that aligned with what cloud customers valued most.

Waygo Events App

The Waygo app was conceptualized to streamline event discovery, restaurant reservations, and social sharing in a single platform.

My role as a Product Designer involved creating a seamless experience for users to filter, track, and share local events, whether large or small, while integrating a social component for connecting with friends. I conducted user research, crafted detailed personas, and designed user flows to optimize the user experience. Key features include event filtering, social sharing, and ticket purchasing within the app. After multiple iterations, I designed 21 low-fidelity and 10 high-fidelity screens, ensuring that the app provides an all-in-one solution for event discovery and social connectivity

Alexa App

The Alexa app is underutilized, despite Alexa hardware offering over 100,000 skills. My goal in this personal project is to redesign the Alexa app to help users better access and benefit from its wide range of capabilities. I conducted comprehensive research, including a competitive analysis, screener surveys, stakeholder interviews, persona development, and affinity mapping.

These insights guided the design process, which includes empathy maps, user flows, and a mini workshop. This project is ongoing, with next steps including low and high-fidelity designs, followed by user testing to ensure a more intuitive experience that maximizes Alexa's potential for users.

Slope Style Rookie

I may have discovered skiing in 2023, but it quickly became a major passion — so much so that I bought skis on Facebook the very next day. I'm excited for the upcoming winter season!
